Finding My Voice

Seeking my voice has been my quest for a couple years now. I keep getting closer to finding my confidence and style, but inevitably something keeps holding me back. I'm tired of being scared.

This week riots have broken out all over the country to support Black Lives Matter. I support this and want to help, but I don't know how. I feel at a loss of what to say. I don't want to say the wrong thing and hurt where I intend to help. I am paralyzed by the fear of doing it wrong so I don't do, or say, anything at all.

This is not acceptable!

Inaction is a choice. Silence is not the choice I want to make when people are dying just for being who they are.

My entire message is to embrace who you are. I come from great privilege. I understand that for me to come into my power, I have to unblock my own emotions. It is an inside job. However, for many people, their blocks are not coming from within themselves, but from the very system they are trying to live and work in.

To be able to unlock the highest potential of yourself, you must first feel safe and supported. I take that place of stability for granted. I want to recognize those who do not have that privilege.

I am creating a new look for my website. I want my platform to be a constant conversation. I tend keep the majority of my thoughts hidden away. I want to begin writing my notes to share instead of keeping them for my own benefit. There is no magic solution to breakthroughs. You do something and then decide if you want to keep doing it or change it. By seeing my process, I hope you can find a nugget of information or perspective to help you in your own journey.

I don't want to dilute the powerful message Black Lives Matter is broadcasting on social media. But I do have something to say. I realize that I have this amazing platform that I'm hardly using at all. I want to change that.

For the time being, I want to lift up the voices of others who will make an impact. In the background, I will be updating my website a little bit at a time so that it can be actively used as a base of operations.

My purpose is to share experiences, tools and wisdom to find balance in emotional health so you can breakthrough your creative barriers and live the life you want.

It is time for great change. I am done being scared. I'm ready to lift my voice. Will you join me?
