How Do You Feel About Risk?

Risk can be scary. It can also be worth it.

Understanding the risk you are taking and the possible reward may help you overcome the fear of the unknown. At least enough to push through and act.

Ask yourself:
  • What does risk look like for me?
  • How do I feel about it?
  • How can this risk move me forward?

Take mindful risks to stay on your path. There is a difference in doing something “just because” or to align with someone else. Take risks in the “right” places, the ones that will move you forward toward the reward you seek.

Accept the Shadows

“I think the healthy way to live is to make friends with the beast inside oneself, and that means not the beast but the shadow. The dark side of one's nature. Have fun with it and you know, is to accept everything about ourselves.” -- Anthony Hopkins

As we get further into fall, the balance of dark and light continues to ebb and flow. The light slowly retreats making way for the darkness and shadows.

This is a time of year where it feels busy. You may have a lot going on and also feeling the sense of change. The shadows of your heart begin to appear as you settle into the coming cool weather.
The shadows are the things we don’t like about ourselves, what we try to keep hidden. These are often stirrings of what we truly want paired with what is holding us back from that desire.
Take some time to lean into those, sometimes uncomfortable, thoughts and ask yourself what you need to accept. What can you change to move forward and live the life you want?
The darkness of fall brings a time for reflection and the ability to make a change. It also brings a wave of love and festivity. Don’t forget to have fun along the way.
